Welcome to Wainuiomata Trail Project (WTP)
Wainuiomata Trail Project (WTP) is a non-Profit organisation made up of keen mountain bikers and volunteers from the Wellington mountain biking community.
WTP builds and maintains tracks at Waiu Park, Wainuiomata, Lower Hutt – including the Te Whiti Riser and Super Plus tracks on the Lower Hutt side of the hill. Waiu Park is a joint venture between Hutt City Council and WTP.
About Waiu Park
Waiu Park is mixed use (mountain biking and running) and e-bike friendly.
Trails range from easy climbs to technical down hills, and there are a great selection of beginner/family tracks and a skills area. The tracks are set in regenerating native bush and also a significant wetland area.
WTP Bike Trails
There are 46 bike trails in Waiu Park, including some for beginner riders and some family friendly trails.
The top five trails are Dozer, Super Plus, Trail 491, Mt Lowry and Spoonhill.
Waiu Park has a 4 star rating on the Trailforks website. Go to the link below for more information:
Support Us
WTP is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers. We welcome help from the community – either by way of donation or helping out at our Dig Days.
Every contribution – large or small – helps to keep the Wainuiomata Bike Trail and surrounding bush well maintained for everyone to benefit.
