About Wainuiomata Trail Project
Our aim is to provide trails suitable for mountain biking, walking and other recreational uses for the local community and the Greater Wellington Region.
Where are the trails
The trails are located in 2 valleys above Parkway on the eastern side of the Hills
between Lower Hutt and Wainuiomata.
The main park entrance can be found at the northern end of Waiu
St. An alternative entrance is located at the top of the Wainuiomata Hill
road.
Working Bees
We hold dig and maintenance days every second Saturday morning, some Sundays and Tuesday evenings in summer. You can find out more about upcoming working bees on VORB
. We hope to see you at one of our dig days, we'd love to meet you.
The Trails
Our trails include Bee-Line, Jungle Gym, Labyrinth & Spoonhill with many more trails to come. Located near our trails is the Mt Lowry track as well as an extensive
network of 4wd tracks and firebreaks.
